Dimensions: 4'4" x 6'7" (132 cm x 201 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving with a finely articulated geometric medallion composition and bold tribal borderwork. Its hand-knotted wool pile presents a softly aged palette of ivory, slate blue, charcoal, taupe, and restrained rust accents, with stepped motifs and small floral details lending graphic depth. An ideal accent for a hallway, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, slate blue, charcoal, taupe, brown, cream, rust, and sage, with a ivory field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
