Dimensions: 3'5" x 6'4" (104 cm x 193 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a hand-knotted Persian village weaving with a finely drawn ivory field, stylized botanical forms, and a stepped geometric medallion. Its restrained taupe, brown, and soft blue palette is framed by repeating starburst borders, giving this one-of-a-kind wool-pile rug a quietly graphic, collector-friendly character. An ideal accent for a hallway, bedroom, or entryway.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, taupe, brown, blue gray, charcoal, beige, and slate, with a ivory field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
