Dimensions: 3'6" x 5'0" (107 cm x 152 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Shiraz rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with three linked geometric medallions, stylized floral motifs, and richly layered guard borders. Its earthy taupe, ivory, charcoal, and restrained rust palette gives the hand-knotted design a beautifully time-softened character. An ideal accent for a hallway, bedroom, or entryway.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, charcoal, ivory, camel, brown, rust, beige, and ebony, with a taupe field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
