This antique circa 1940 Shiraz rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with a finely detailed geometric field and three linked ivory medallions. Its muted taupe, charcoal, ivory, and soft gold palette frames intricate latticework, stepped motifs, and animal-form border details in a collector-friendly composition. An ideal accent for a living room, bedroom, or entryway.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, charcoal, ivory, soft gold, gray, brown, and ebony, with a taupe field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
