This antique circa 1930 Shiraz rug is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with a richly detailed wool pile and a dramatic chain of geometric medallions. Its deep brown field, rust red corners, ivory accents, and intricate stepped borders showcase the graphic precision and expressive ornament of Shiraz craftsmanship. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.

Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
