This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a hand-knotted Persian village weaving with a finely articulated geometric field in soft blue, ivory, taupe, and warm brown. Its stepped ivory medallion, stylized floral rosettes, and bold reciprocal border create a balanced tribal-classical composition with a gently time-softened palette. An ideal accent for a living room, bedroom, or entryway.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, blue gray, taupe, brown, muted teal, charcoal, ochre, and sage, with a blue gray field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
