Dimensions: 5'0" x 6'3" (152 cm x 191 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Afshar rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind tribal weaving with an intricate all-over lattice of geometric boteh and small-scale motifs that speaks to the rich weaving tradition of Persian village rugs. Its softly faded palette of camel, ivory, rust, and slate gives the hand-knotted design a refined, timeworn character, while the layered border system and dense patterning create exceptional visual texture. A versatile accent for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded warm tones of camel, ivory, rust, taupe, slate, and brown, with a camel field.

Afshar is a tribal group of people located in Southwest Iran, the Caucasian mountains, and Turkey. Most Afshari rugs are produced in village workshops in Southwest Iran. They are woven mostly on wool in a squarish format. The design usually features three center medallions surrounded by small geometric motifs where the use of botehs in the design is common.
