This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a hand-knotted Persian village weaving with a finely drawn geometric medallion composition and a softly aged palette. Its camel field is framed by layered ivory and taupe borders, with powder blue, aqua, charcoal, and muted rose details enlivening the angular floral and tribal motifs. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or beside a bed.
Faded warm tones of camel, ivory, taupe, powder blue, aqua, charcoal, muted rose, and sage, with a camel field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
