This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving with a softly faded taupe field, delicate rose accents, and restrained geometric floral ornament. Its hand-knotted wool pile and quietly timeworn palette give the small-format rug an authentic, collected character. An ideal accent for an entryway, hallway, or bedroom.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, rose, blue green, gray, and brown, with a taupe field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
