Dimensions: 2'7" x 4'5" (79 cm x 135 cm).
Circa: 30.
This antique circa 1930 Karaje rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with a softly weathered ivory field, pale blue geometric medallions, and restrained rust accents. Its hand-knotted wool pile and finely drawn angular motifs are framed by a graphic blue-gray border, giving this small-format rug exceptional collector character. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or bedroom.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, pale blue, blue gray, taupe, rust, beige, and charcoal, with a ivory field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
