This antique circa 1920 Karaje rug from northwest Persia is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind tribal weaving with a richly saturated navy field, rust red borders, and crisp ivory geometric ornament. Its stacked diamond medallions, hooked motifs, and finely articulated guard borders showcase the bold symmetry and graphic precision prized in Karaje village rugs. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Muted warm tones of navy, rust, ivory, terra cotta, blue, sage, charcoal, and camel, with a navy field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
