This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving with a softly faded rose field and a striking chain of geometric diamond medallions. Its hand-knotted wool pile is framed by richly detailed charcoal borders, with ivory, pale blue, and blush floral accents lending refined contrast to the tribal geometry. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded warm tones of rose, charcoal, ivory, taupe, pale blue, blush, and brown, with a rose field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
