Dimensions: 4'7" x 6'4" (140 cm x 193 cm).
Circa: 1930.
Antique Afshar rug, circa 1930, hand-knotted and one of a kind, with a softly faded lattice of geometric medallions rendered in pale aqua, peach, and ivory. Its tribal Persian design and time-softened palette give the piece a refined, airy presence, while the detailed border and wool pile craftsmanship add depth and character. An ideal accent for a bedroom, living room, or office.
Faded warm tones of peach, aqua, ivory, beige, and tan, with a peach field.
Afshar is a tribal group of people located in Southwest Iran, the Caucasian mountains, and Turkey. Most Afshari rugs are produced in village workshops in Southwest Iran. They are woven mostly on wool in a squarish format. The design usually features three center medallions surrounded by small geometric motifs where the use of botehs in the design is common.
