Dimensions: 3'3" x 9'2" (99 cm x 279 cm).
Circa: 1920.
This antique Persian Hamadan runner, circa 1920, is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind village weaving with a sequence of bold geometric medallions across a softly weathered blue field. Rust, ivory, blush, and charcoal details animate its angular tribal motifs and richly patterned guard borders, giving the narrow format exceptional graphic presence. An ideal centerpiece for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded cool tones of pale blue, rust, ivory, salmon, charcoal, taupe, ochre, and ebony, with a pale blue field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
