Dimensions: 3'4" x 9'3" (102 cm x 282 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Shiraz runner is a hand-knotted Persian tribal weaving with four linked geometric medallions set against a richly patterned brown field. Its earthy rust, ivory, camel, and slate palette, angular latch-hook motifs, and crisp reciprocal borders give the wool pile a deeply collected, nomadic character. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded warm tones of brown, rust, ivory, camel, slate, charcoal, terracotta, and taupe, with a brown field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
