This antique Hamadan runner, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug with a softly aged palette and an elegant directional field. Its hand-knotted character is expressed through a faded taupe and ivory ground, delicate blue accents, and finely drawn geometric-floral motifs framed by a classic border, giving the piece refined decorative presence. An ideal choice for a hallway, entryway, or narrow bedroom space.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, blue, beige, camel, and slate, with a taupe field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
