Dimensions: 2'7" x 9'8" (79 cm x 295 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Hamadan runner, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug with a beautifully elongated tribal geometric design and softly timeworn character. The field features a sequence of stepped diamond medallions in faded blush and ivory, outlined with sky blue and framed by a narrow border that enhances its refined village craftsmanship and decorative versatility. Its slender 2' x 9' format makes it an ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded warm tones of blush, ivory, sky blue, taupe, slate, and camel, with a blush field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
