This antique Hamadan runner, woven in Persia circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece with a softly timeworn palette and classic village character. Its elongated field features geometric medallion forms, delicate tribal motifs, and a finely drawn border, all rendered in faded blush, ivory, and pale blue for an airy, collected look. A beautiful hand-knotted accent for a hallway, entryway, or narrow bedroom space.
Faded warm tones of ivory, blush, pale blue, cream, and taupe, with a ivory field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
