Dimensions: 3'3" x 8'10" (99 cm x 269 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Hamadan runner is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian rug with a finely patterned all-over field in softly weathered blue gray and ivory. Its hand-knotted wool pile presents repeating floral and geometric motifs within layered guard borders, giving the narrow 3' x 8' format a refined, collected character. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded neutral tones of blue gray, ivory, cream, taupe, charcoal, and beige, with a blue gray field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
