Dimensions: 2'2" x 3'6" (66 cm x 107 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Shiraz rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving with a pair of stacked diamond medallions, finely detailed geometric motifs, and a richly patterned guard border. Its earthy taupe, ivory, charcoal, and soft brown palette gives the hand-knotted wool pile a beautifully time-softened character while preserving the graphic precision of its nomadic design. An ideal accent for an entryway, hallway, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, charcoal, brown, camel, slate, and ebony, with a taupe field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
