This handmade, one-of-a-kind Jijim rug from the early 1900s showcases a striking tribal lattice of hooked diamonds and small geometric motifs, rendered in a softly faded palette that speaks to its vintage character and decorative depth. Its warm camel-brown field is enlivened by accents of rose, violet, ivory, and muted blue, while the intricate border framing and flatwoven craftsmanship give it strong collector appeal rooted in regional weaving tradition. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded warm tones of camel, taupe, rose, ivory, slate, violet, sand, and brown, with a camel field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
