This antique Shiraz rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal carpet distinguished by its striking compartment design and softly aged palette. Hand-knotted with a geometric lattice of diamond medallions, it showcases beautifully faded tones of ivory, blush, and blue-gray framed by intricate guard borders that lend depth and collector appeal. Its balanced tribal geometry and gentle coloration make it an ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.

Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
