This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatwoven piece distinguished by its rhythmic lattice of stepped diamonds and small tribal lozenges. Its charcoal and taupe palette gives the geometric design a beautifully faded, textural presence, while the narrow border and all-over pattern showcase the graphic clarity prized in traditional village weaving. A versatile statement piece for a living room, bedroom, or office.

Faded neutral tones of charcoal, taupe, brown, ivory, and mauve, with a charcoal field.

Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
