This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatwoven textile with a richly patterned all-over geometric design rooted in tribal weaving traditions. Its warm taupe-brown field is enlivened by repeating diamond motifs in rust, gold, ivory, and crimson, framed by a crisp geometric border that showcases the precision and decorative rhythm collectors prize in vintage village weavings. A versatile statement piece for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Muted warm tones of taupe, rust, gold, ivory, crimson, and brown, with a taupe field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
