This antique Shiraz runner, woven in Persia circa 1920, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece distinguished by its elongated tribal composition and softly aged palette. The design features a sequence of stepped diamond medallions framed by geometric borders and scattered floral and tree-like motifs, giving the rug exceptional visual rhythm and collector-friendly character. Its refined, time-softened presence makes it an ideal choice for a hallway, entryway, or living room.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, brown, slate, camel, charcoal, and sage, with a taupe field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs.
