Dimensions: 4'9" x 13'0" (145 cm x 396 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Karaje runner is a hand-knotted Persian tribal weaving with a richly detailed rust field, a chain of bold geometric medallions, and deep indigo guard borders. Its wool pile displays finely articulated latch-hook forms, ivory outlines, and small-scale tribal ornament that give the long format exceptional graphic rhythm. An ideal statement runner for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded warm tones of rust, indigo, ivory, terracotta, charcoal, sienna, camel, and sage, with a rust field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
