Dimensions: 2'9" x 4'9" (84 cm x 145 cm).
This vintage Belouch rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind tribal weaving with a softly faded palette and a classic compartmental field. Its geometric motifs, narrow border system, and time-softened ivory and taupe ground with pale blue and brown accents give it an understated collector appeal that works beautifully in layered interiors. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or bedside placement.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, taupe, camel, pale blue, brown, and sage, with a ivory field.
Belouch (also Baluch or Balochi) rugs are woven by the Baluch tribal confederacy spanning eastern Iran, western Afghanistan, and parts of Pakistan. Among the most immediate and expressive of all tribal rugs, they are made on horizontal ground looms using a wool foundation and a distinctive palette dominated by deep reds, rich browns, dark navy, and ivory — colors drawn from the natural dyes of the desert plateau.
Designs include prayer formats, repeating geometric field patterns, and stylized tree-of-life compositions, often finished with elaborate flatwoven kilim ends. Their rustic, heartfelt quality and superb natural dyes make them perennially popular with collectors and designers seeking authentic tribal character.
