This antique Afshar rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind tribal weaving with a striking geometric medallion composition and softly timeworn character. Afshar is a tribal group of people located in Southwest Iran, the Caucasian mountains, and Turkey. Most Afshari rugs are produced in village workshops in Southwest Iran.
