This antique circa 1930 Lilian rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian runner with a refined all-over botanical design and beautifully aged character. Its soft ivory field is enlivened by slate blue drawing, pale taupe accents, and small touches of camel, showcasing the crisp linearity and balanced symmetry prized in hand-knotted village weavings. Lilian (Lilihan) is a town south of Arak making rugs similar in style to a Sarouk with a curvilinear/floral style. They are single wefted and cotton foundation with a supple handle.
