Dimensions: 2'5" x 4'0" (74 cm x 122 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Lilian rug is a hand-knotted Persian wool textile with a warm salmon field and an elegant, vertically organized floral-vine design. Its finely drawn ivory, sage, slate blue, and rust motifs are framed by multiple geometric floral borders, creating a richly detailed small-format accent with enduring traditional character. An ideal accent for an entryway, hallway, or office.
Muted warm tones of salmon, slate blue, ivory, sage, rust, charcoal, olive, and terracotta, with a salmon field.
Lilian (Lilihan) is a town south of Arak making rugs similar in style to a Sarouk with a curvilinear/floral style. They are single wefted and cotton foundation with a supple handle. Like Sarouks, Lilians were exported to the United States in the 1920’s and 1930’s. They are single wefted with a soft floppy handle.
