Dimensions: 3'8" x 5'2" (112 cm x 157 cm).
Circa: 30.
Handmade and one-of-a-kind, this antique Afshar rug from Persia, circa 1930, showcases a finely drawn tribal composition with a vertically stacked medallion and stylized floral and geometric motifs. Its softly faded ivory field, pale sky blue border, and blush pink accents create an airy, decorative presence, while the hand-knotted wool pile and nuanced abrash speak to its artisanal character and age. An ideal accent for a bedroom, office, or entryway.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, sky blue, blush, taupe, brown, and camel, with a ivory field.
Afshar is a tribal group of people located in Southwest Iran, the Caucasian mountains, and Turkey. Most Afshari rugs are produced in village workshops in Southwest Iran. They are woven mostly on wool in a squarish format. The design usually features three center medallions surrounded by small geometric motifs where the use of botehs in the design is common.
