This vintage Shiraz rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian tribal weaving distinguished by its softly faded palette and bold geometric composition. Three stepped diamond medallions anchor the field, while angular border motifs and finely drawn tribal elements give the piece strong decorative character and collector-friendly presence. Its subdued neutral tones make it an ideal centerpiece for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of beige, ivory, taupe, camel, sand, and light brown, with a beige field.
Shiraz is the capital city of Fars province in south western Iran and is major collection center for the regions tribal and village rugs. They are woven on a wool foundation with an asymmetrical knot, usually with medallions on a densely covered field of geometric and animal motifs. One of the most well known tribes in the area are the Qashqai.
