Dimensions: 3'0" x 10'10" (91 cm x 330 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Hamadan runner is a hand-knotted Persian rug with a richly patterned dark brown field, repeating stylized botanical and geometric motifs, and a finely articulated ivory border. Its elongated 3' x 10' format, softened rose, camel, and charcoal palette, and visible age patina give the wool pile a collected, timeworn character. An ideal foundation for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded warm tones of dark brown, ivory, dusty rose, camel, charcoal, taupe, and sage, with a dark brown field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
