This vintage Cactus Kilim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatweave with a serene ivory field enlivened by delicately spaced tribal motifs in soft blue, gold, and blush tones. Its minimalist geometric composition, subtle abrash, and airy negative space give it the refined character prized in Moroccan-inspired textiles and make its craftsmanship especially decorative in modern and collected interiors. Cactus Silk kilims are handcrafted by female artisans in Morocco using agave (sabra) fiber — sometimes called "vegetable silk" — rather than wool or cotton. The resulting textile has a distinctive luminous sheen and a supple, almost liquid drape quite unlike any other flat-woven rug.

Weavers use a flat-woven background as a canvas and add simple yet bold tribal designs — geometric stars, diamonds, and zigzag stripes — in vivid, saturated colors.
