This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatwoven textile with a striking tribal grid of small geometric compartments and a beautifully time-softened palette. Its dark brown field is animated by ivory and muted rose motifs, framed by narrow patterned borders that emphasize the rug’s graphic structure and artisanal character. A distinctive decorative accent for a hallway, entryway, or office.

Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
