Dimensions: 4'7" x 8'6" (140 cm x 259 cm).
This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatweave with a striking tribal lattice of repeating diamond motifs rendered in richly aged, earthy tones. Its geometric composition, narrow patterned end borders, and finely balanced symmetry give it strong decorative presence while showcasing the character and craftsmanship collectors seek in vintage village weaving. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or layered living room setting.
Faded warm tones of charcoal, ivory, rust, olive, taupe, rose, and slate, with a charcoal field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
