Dimensions: 2'9" x 14'10" (84 cm x 452 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Karaje runner, circa 1930, is a hand-knotted Persian tribal weaving with a softly weathered blue-gray field and a rhythmic procession of geometric medallions. Its finely drawn ivory, taupe, charcoal, and muted terracotta motifs are framed by multiple narrow guard borders, giving the long format exceptional architectural presence. An ideal centerpiece for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded neutral tones of blue gray, ivory, taupe, charcoal, camel, terracotta, and sage, with a blue gray field.
Karaje is a town in north west Iran in the Azerbaijan province close to Heriz. They are known for producing geometric rugs similar to Heriz on a cotton foundation and single wefted.
