This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatweave with bold tribal geometry and a striking dark field framed by intricate ivory and red patterning. Its compact format showcases crisp hooked motifs, stepped diamonds, and small polychrome accents that give the piece strong graphic presence and collectible character. An ideal accent for an entryway, office, or layered display in a living room.
Muted warm tones of charcoal, ivory, rust, crimson, orange, blue, and green, with a charcoal field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
