Antique Heriz Area Rug (7' x 10')
Dimensions: 7'8" x 10'9" (234 cm x 328 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Persian Heriz rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind piece distinguished by its bold geometric medallion design and commanding tribal character. Its softly faded palette of taupe, ivory, brown, and muted earth tones accentuates the angular drawing, layered border work, and timeworn patina that collectors prize in vintage Heriz carpets. Hand-knotted with a striking architectural composition, it brings depth and character to interiors and is an ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining room, or office.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, brown, ivory, charcoal, and camel, with a taupe field.

Located in north west Iran, Heriz is one of the most well known rug weaving centers. They are woven with geometric designs on a cotton foundation using the symmetrical (Turkish / Ghiordes) knot. They usually come with a large central squarish medallion with pendants either ends.
