Dimensions: 8'6" x 11'9" (259 cm x 358 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique circa 1930 Hamadan rug is a hand-knotted Persian carpet with an elegant all-over botanical lattice rendered in softly aged taupe, ivory, and charcoal. Its finely articulated floral rosettes, palmettes, and scrolling vinework are framed by a wide, repeating floral border, creating a refined traditional composition with a gently timeworn surface. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining area, or bedroom.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, beige, charcoal, camel, sage, and brown, with a taupe field.
Hamadan is a Kurdish city in north western Iran famed for its rug production. Numerous villages around the city produce rugs with their own design elements, all under the name Hamadan. They are woven on a cotton foundation, and are single wefted.
