Dimensions: 3'6" x 6'3" (107 cm x 191 cm).
This handmade, one-of-a-kind vintage Caucasian rug showcases a striking tribal composition with three bold stepped medallions set against a rust field and framed by a graphic star border. Its hand-knotted character is expressed through crisp geometric drawing, softly aged color, and a nuanced palette of ivory, sky blue, sage, and brown that gives the piece strong decorative presence. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or office.
Muted warm tones of rust, ivory, sage, sky blue, taupe, brown, and olive, with a rust field.
Caucasian rugs have a stronger palette with geometric designs. Longer piled rugs are woven in the highlands and the shorter piled finer rugs in the lowlands. The Caucasus is the area bordered by the Black Sea on the left and the Caspian Sea to the right. The Caucasus mountains border the region from the northwest diagonally to the southwest. Rugs are usually woven on an all wool foundation or with wool warps and cotton wefts, occasionally mixed.
