This antique circa 1930 Kerman rug is a hand-knotted Persian masterpiece with an ivory field filled by an intricate all-over garden of palmettes, flowering vines, and boteh-like floral forms. Its finely articulated crimson border, soft blue accents, and balanced botanical repeat showcase the refined craftsmanship associated with Kerman weaving. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining area, or bedroom.
Faded warm tones of ivory, crimson, burgundy, dusty blue, rose, taupe, sage, and gold, with a ivory field.
Kerman is a city and province located in south east Iran. They have been making rugs there since the Safavid period. Major production began in the late nineteenth century with most Kerman rugs being exported to America. They have floral patterns and more often with a central medallion.
