Dimensions: 8'9" x 11'3" (267 cm x 343 cm).
Circa: 1930.
This antique Persian Heriz rug, circa 1930, is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind 8' x 11' carpet distinguished by its monumental geometric medallion and richly articulated floral latticework. A saturated rust-red field is balanced by powder-blue spandrels and a broad blue floral border, creating the robust, architectural character prized in Heriz weaving. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining area, or office.
Faded warm tones of rust, powder blue, ivory, navy, terracotta, sage, charcoal, and coral, with a rust field.
Located in north west Iran, Heriz is one of the most well known rug weaving centers. They are woven with geometric designs on a cotton foundation using the symmetrical (Turkish / Ghiordes) knot. They usually come with a large central squarish medallion with pendants either ends.
