This antique Far Sarouk rug, circa 1920, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian carpet with a richly drawn all-over floral design and a softly integrated central medallion. Its deep brown field, pale blue border, and accents of rust, ivory, and rose create a beautifully aged palette that highlights the finesse of its hand-knotted craftsmanship and decorative depth. An ideal accent for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded warm tones of brown, ivory, rust, slate, rose, gold, and charcoal, with a brown field.
Far Sarouk rugs (sometimes listed as "Farahan Sarouk") represent the earliest phase of Sarouk production, woven in the villages of the Arak region in the late nineteenth and very early twentieth century before the style shifted toward the heavier American Sarouk format. These early pieces retain the refined drawing and restrained palette of the Farahan tradition — typically featuring an all-over floral spray design or a central medallion on a rich red or ivory ground.
They are more delicate and less commercial than later Sarouks, and are prized by collectors for their elegance and historical importance.
