This vintage Jijim rug is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatwoven piece with a softly faded tribal design and a beautifully understated palette. Its all-over lattice of stepped diamond motifs, rendered in muted taupe, lavender, slate, and teal, gives the rug a refined geometric rhythm and an authentic woven character that works effortlessly in layered interiors. A versatile decorative accent for a living room, bedroom, or office.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, beige, lavender, slate, teal, and gray, with a taupe field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
