Circa: 1930.
This antique Baktiary rug, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Persian village weaving distinguished by its compartmentalized geometric field and softly time-worn palette. The hand-knotted design pairs ivory and camel tones with pale sky blue and deeper blue accents, creating a refined tribal composition with strong decorative character and collector appeal. Its balanced border and faded patina make it an ideal accent for an entryway, hallway, or office.
Faded neutral tones of ivory, camel, taupe, pale blue, brown, and slate blue, with a ivory field.
The Baktiary is a tribe located in western Iran. They produce colorful geometric rugs often with a compartment design filled with stylized floral motifs or bold medallions. The village rugs are woven on a cotton foundation with the nomadic pieces on a woolen foundation.
