Dimensions: 8'9" x 11'7" (267 cm x 353 cm).
Circa: 30.
This antique Persian Heriz rug, circa 1930, is a hand-knotted, one-of-a-kind village weaving distinguished by its monumental angular medallion and richly articulated geometric floral drawing. A rust-red field is layered with slate blue, ivory, and soft camel motifs, framed by a broad repeating palmette border that gives the 8' x 11' carpet exceptional architectural presence. An ideal centerpiece for a living room, dining area, or office.
Faded warm tones of rust, slate blue, ivory, camel, charcoal, terracotta, taupe, and sage, with a rust field.
Located in north west Iran, Heriz is one of the most well known rug weaving centers. They are woven with geometric designs on a cotton foundation using the symmetrical (Turkish / Ghiordes) knot. They usually come with a large central squarish medallion with pendants either ends.
