This handmade, one-of-a-kind vintage Genje rug showcases a striking Caucasian tribal design with bold nested chevrons and finely drawn geometric motifs. Its vivid palette of rust, ivory, and saturated blues is framed by multiple guard borders, giving the long runner format strong visual rhythm and collector-friendly character. A distinctive hand-knotted accent for a hallway, entryway, or narrow living space.
Vibrant warm tones of rust, ivory, cobalt, navy, terra cotta, camel, crimson, and charcoal, with a rust field.
Genje (also Ganja) is a city in western Azerbaijan, historically an important weaving center producing rugs with a distinctive diagonal stripe composition — bold bands of color and geometric motifs running the length of the rug, often in vivid combinations of red, blue, green, and ivory. This striped format is one of the most recognizable in Caucasian weaving.
Genje rugs are woven on a wool foundation with a medium pile and natural dyes. Their bold, energetic design and strong palette make them striking accent pieces, particularly effective in rooms that benefit from vertical movement and strong color.
