This antique Jijim rug, circa 1930, presents a finely woven all-over lattice of hooked diamonds and stepped tribal motifs in softly weathered earth tones. Its graphic, repeating geometry and low-contrast palette create a refined folk-art presence with exceptional decorative versatility. An ideal foundation for a hallway, living room, or dining area.
Faded neutral tones of taupe, ivory, camel, dusty rose, rust, brown, charcoal, and sage, with a taupe field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
