This antique Jijim runner, circa 1930, is a handmade, one-of-a-kind flatwoven textile distinguished by an intricate lattice of hooked diamond medallions and small geometric motifs. Its softly faded ivory, taupe, rose, and brown palette gives the long-format tribal design an inviting, collected character. An ideal accent for a hallway, entryway, or kitchen.
Faded warm tones of ivory, taupe, camel, dusty rose, brown, charcoal, cream, and sienna, with a ivory field.
Jijim is a flat weave. It is usually woven on a horizontal loom in a similar way as a Kilim, but where warps are grouped together, they often have brocaded embellishments. They were used as bed covers or curtains and are mostly found in northwest Iran, Turkey, and the Caucasus.
